Attachments & Add-On FAQs

Modular accessories that extend the reach and versatility of Bailey aerial lifts and compact handlers.

What attachments are available for Bailey aerial lifts and compact handlers?
The standard Bailey attachment line includes 270-degree fall arrest systems, vacuum glass lifters, pallet forks, material baskets, hoist hooks, robotic end-effector mounts, padded aircraft rails (for engine and panel handling), portable EX-rated work lights, soft-touch positioning systems, and the Omni Drive scissor upgrade. Each attachment is engineered to a specific machine series and load envelope.
Can attachments be customized for specific applications?
Yes — custom attachment design is one of Bailey's core in-house engineering capabilities. Whether you need an ESD-safe robotic mount for cleanroom assembly, an oversized vacuum rig for aerospace panels, or a specialized cradle for sensitive aircraft components, Bailey will design, prototype, and certify the attachment alongside the host machine.
Are Bailey attachments compatible with non-Bailey equipment?
Most Bailey attachments are engineered for Bailey-built host machines because mounting interfaces, load-sensing integration, and stability calculations are done as a system. Some attachments — specifically vacuum lifters and the 270-degree fall arrest system — can be adapted to non-Bailey equipment after a structural and stability review.
Can fall arrest systems be retrofitted to existing lifts?
Yes, in many cases. The Bailey 270-degree fall arrest system can be retrofitted to existing aerial work platforms after Bailey's engineering team validates anchor-point loading and platform structural integrity. This is a common upgrade for aerospace and MRO customers extending the safe service life of older machines.
What is the lead time for custom attachments?
Off-the-shelf attachments ship in 2–6 weeks. Custom attachments typically run 8–20 weeks depending on engineering complexity, certification requirements, and any required FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing). Quote turnaround on custom attachments is usually under two weeks.
